Contrast Balance & Harmony

I took this photo a few weeks ago when it snowed up in Zion, i feel like this represents contrast perfectly. when one imagines Zion National Park they typically think of the harsh desert and the heat that is associated with those territories, but on the rare occasion we are privileged to view Zion dusted in snow. it is always hard to capture moments in time like this due to the area that it is in, blue skies quickly melt away everything that is represented in this photo. i feel as if the red is perfectly balanced with the clouds and the snow that creates a harmonious relationship. The key element in photography  is finding the balance in contrast which creates harmony. If you wait long enough the opportunity will present its self to be captured and then later to be shared.  The horizontal line starting at the bottom left direct you to more vertical lines of the rock, this is a stark contrast of lines that flow well with this photograph. this creates an overall balance of portions, between the sky, the rock, and the foreground. for these reasons i feel that this photograph depicts perfectly the scheme of contrast, balance and harmony.
